CNET reported last week that \theres definitely a new Intel-based Surface\ planned for the press event, suggesting that it will include a new power-optimized Intel Haswell processor rather than an Atom variant. Microsoft currently uses Intel Haswell processors in its Surface Pro 2 tablets, and the company even improved its clock speed earlier this year.
