The US is opening up the Smithsonian’s digitized art collection

The White House promised that it would open up government data last year, and its now expanding those plans in some intriguing directions. For one, its opening up the Smithsonian American Art Museums digitized collection; youll soon get to build apps and other tools using the institutions artwork as a foundation. Even curators dont have that much access right now, the administration says.
