2013 was not a banner year for LG’s smartphone business. After gaining some ground in the highly competitive market, sales of LG’s flagship G2 smartphone last year completely bombed. A report suggested the company sold just 2.3 million G2 handsets total through early December after forecasting sales totaling 3 million units in Q3 alone, and it left industry watchers wondering if there is any hope left for LG’s smartphone business.
