Theres nothing else on the planet like the plant called Welwitschia mirabilis. The ancient tree looks like little more than a pile of leaves, and its only found in the extremely arid desert regions of Namibia. But the species has managed to live on for many millions of years, perhaps because of its unassuming nature.
