Twitter has acquired Cover, an Android lock screen replacement that automatically places apps that it thinks youll want to use front and center based on your location and time of day. Cover doesnt say whether or not development will continue on its eponymous app, but it sounds as though itll be setting the app aside as its team begins at Twitter. Its likely then that Twitter isnt interested in taking over your lock screen so much as its interested in Covers creators and their experience with intelligently surfacing information — something that it can certainly put to use.
