Microsoft The Forefront for Office (FFO) team is looking for a Spam Analyst (Service Engineer) who will be responsible for protecting millions of our customers from spam and phishing emails. Forefront for Office is leading the way with high scale, high reliability and high value messaging services that address the growing need for anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-phishing. Spam analysts triage spam and false positive emails on a daily basis. He or she will implement and manage regular expressions to block spam while managing rule scoring. He or she will also need come up with innovative ways to write spam rules that block spam without resulting in false positives. The engineer will initially understand the existing system while working with other Spam Analysts in the team. Must Have Skills: BS degree in Computer Science, related engineering degree or equivalent skills Language expertise: Fluent reading and writing in English, Spanish and Portuguese languages is required to write rules that catch spam in these languages. Experience in writing scripts or tools (in any programming language) to parse logs and mine data for spam triage/research Preferred skill set: Experience in writing complex regular expressions, email protocols, Exchange, anti-spam knowledge; Experience in Windows, Linux or UNIX environment and basic scripting is preferable; fluent reading & writing Italian or other related languages and any other programming skills will be added bonus.
