Canadian Pharmacy Spam Targets Euro 2012

Euro 2012 is in full swing, and so are spammers with the following missive currently landing in mailboxes:

The message reads:

EURO 2012 LIVE: Czech Rep. 0 Portugal 1

WARSAW, Poland (AP) – In the first quarterfinal at Euro 2012, Portugal beat the Czech Republic 1-0.

Score your goal.

The spammers are being particularly quick off the mark here, as the above game only finished a couple of hours ago. The “Score your goal” link leads to a Canadian pharmacy spam site:

As you may imagine, the site itself – carettypeab(dot)net – shows up alongside various diet / medicine / pharma pill neighbours, and has a less than wonderful WOT score.

Livestreams and match reports are all the rage right now, so make sure emails arriving in your mailbox are related to feeds, websites and services you subscribe to – in addition to spam such as the above, there are PDFs in circulation asking for personal information and it’s not a stretch to think we’ll be seeing a lot of Euro Malware before the tournament is done.

Christopher Boyd (Thanks to Patrick for finding this).
