Scammers have homed in on everybody’s favourite big angry bald dude with a beard, offering up a so-called “Max Payne Reloaded + Crack” for the game Max Payne 3.

In the promotional Youtube video (which currently sits at around 300 views), getting your hands on this so-called “Reloaded” version is as easy as downloading the file, running it and launching straight into the game proper. What it fails to mention (or show) is the inevitable hoop jumping that assists the creators in the continued bulging of their wallets.

It certainly sounds more promising than most “offers” of a similar nature:

No passwords or surveys? I can hear the stampede from here.
Firing it up reveals that the program needs to check for updates, and – what a coincidence! – there just happened to be one today.

Of course, it’s all nonsense. The program will tell you there was an update for whatever your PC time / date is set to, which means the year 2027 is a time of great innovation and crack updates:

If you’d said “download site that requires a survey to be filled in”, then here’s a gold star. The whole thing is an over-elaborate ruse to make some affiliate cash, and fans of Max Payne should steer clear of this one – as with so many downloads of this type, you’re risking surveys at best and generous helpings of Malware at worst.
