Feminists just wanna have fun (and send spam)

As a feminist who sees an above-average amount of spam (due to many years in the Internet security space), the spam sample below caught my eye and elicited a chuckle.

It’s dating spam with sense of humor: the spammer sent a “looking for sex on the side” spam message with a spoofed from address using the domain of the feminist organization Feminist Campus. It’s been a long time since I hung out at the Women’s Center or marched on Washington, but I think feminists would argue that a woman should be able to have affairs and send ridiculous email messages like the one below, just like a man. Although I have a hunch this message may not have been written by a feminist named Bridget…

Hi My name is bridget. I found your profile on that dating site. I also love sex on the side. I`m 26, I have a loving partner but he is working 15 hours a day and we have sex only once a week :( If you are interested I can send you some hot pictures of me, just email me at Use only the email above (my boyfriend doesn`t know about that email!)

(ok, if this made me laugh, maybe I do see a bit too much spam…)
