Apple Watch uses ‘digital touch’ system for wordless communication

One of the unanswered questions of the just announced Apple Watch was this: How would people communicate with such a small screen? Now we have the answer: with digital touch, a program that encourages communication without words. Rather than attempting to, say, text a message on the watch, you can tap a message: the watch can detect when you push its pressure sensors, then buzz the device of the person youre talking to accordingly. Apples also programmed custom emojis into the watch, if you want a little more nuance of emotion in your conversation.
