Hip hop legends De La Soul are making their entire catalog available for free download today, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their debut album. The catalog will be available at De La Souls website from 11 AM ET on Friday until noon Saturday — 25 hours for 25 years. De La Soul are widely regarded as one of the most influential groups in hip hop history, though their celebrated sampling and remixing has made it difficult for the trio to bring their music to digital platforms, due to various rights issues.The Library of Congress has added De La Souls debut 1989 album 3 Feet High and Rising to its collection of preserved works, but most of the groups work remains unavailable on iTunes or other services.
