With Veterans Day in the US tomorrow, The Washington Post has put together Portraits of War, a look at some of the men and women whove documented the major conflicts of the past 150 years in photographs. A number of the photographers in the piece made their names capturing the horrors of the American Civil War — including Mathew Brady, one of the most famous photographers of the 19th century, whose extensive portfolio now resides in the National Archives and the Library of Congress.
