Renowned director Ari Folman will create an animated film based on the life and historic diary of Anne Frank. The Israeli filmmaker, who previously wrote and directed the The Congress and the Oscar-nominated animated documentary Waltz with Bashir, will script and direct whats described as a family-driven animation film. Screen Daily reports that Folman and his producer will be the first director-producer team to have complete access to the Anne Frank Funds archive in Basel, Switzerland. The Anne Frank Fund was set up by the diarists father, Otto Frank, who survived the war.
