Apple prepping gaming-focused set-top box: report

The next-generation Apple TV will offer gaming as well as movies and could even offer motion-sensing features like Microsofts Kinect, according to a new report. Apples little ice hockey puck-sized TV box is due for a refresh this year and, according to 9to5Mac, that refresh could see the inclusion of a ‘games store. Although primarily a device for mirroring content from another Apple device to a TV and for accessing the internet and video streaming apps on the big screen, the Apple TV does already support some gaming. For instance a game can be launched on an Apple TV and players can use their iPhone or iPad as a controller.
