How Is ExaGrid Revolutionizing Backup Storage with New Models and Updates?

ExaGrid Systems, Inc. has made significant updates to its Tiered Backup Storage appliances with the introduction of three new models: EX20, EX81, and EX135. These updates are part of ExaGrid’s innovative approach to backup storage technology, focusing on security, efficiency, and scalability, and coincide with the release of ExaGrid software version 7.2.0.

The new models join the existing 2U appliance series, expanding it to eight models in total. This expansion allows for up to 32 appliances to be combined into a single scale-out system, enhancing flexibility and reducing the need for forklift upgrades. The EX189 model, when scaled to a 32-appliance configuration, offers a capacity of 6PB for full backups, indicating a strong commitment to extensive data storage needs.

ExaGrid has introduced Data Encryption at Rest (SEC) options to their appliances, ensuring enhanced protection for sensitive data. This SEC feature is available on larger appliance models and can be upgraded through software updates. New hardware models with SEC are also offered for these appliances.

Software version 7.2.0 includes security and integration enhancements such as External Key Management (EKM) for encrypted data using the KMIP 1.4 protocol. This provides solid encryption key management and supports third-party applications like Thales, Fortanix, and Entrust. Integration with backup applications has been improved, offering new support for NetBackup Flex Media Server Appliances and Veeam S3 Governance Mode.

Enhanced security measures such as Dedicated Managed Networks are now available, minimizing unauthorized access to ExaGrid’s management interface and improving overall system security. Features like tiered air gap, delayed deletes, and immutable data objects provide additional protection against ransomware.

ExaGrid’s commitment to innovation is reflected in these updates. The company’s focus on efficient, secure, and easily managed solutions benefits organizations looking to optimize rack space and achieve high-performance backup and restore capabilities. ExaGrid continues to expand globally with robust sales and pre-sales support in multiple regions worldwide.

In summary, ExaGrid’s new models and software updates highlight their dedication to delivering state-of-the-art backup storage solutions. Enhanced security features and better integration reflect their commitment to addressing modern data storage needs, maintaining a leading position in the backup storage industry.
